In the late 1950's Rock and Roll migrated to Scandinavian countries. This created a big demand for electric guitars. Hagström met this demand in 1958 by producing almost 700 guitars, in a way only European ingenuity could produce.

Hagstrom was the brainchild of Albin Hagström (1905-'52) of Alvdalen, Sweden, who began modestly by importing German accordions in 1921. After a modest start, the quantities of Hagstrom accordions slowly grew, and in 1925 Hagström incorporated his business as Albin Hagstrom.
